Knife Found |

Dear Resident
Today I've been contacted by a concerned resident on Cobden Close who at approx 08:40 has witnessed 2 young males of secondary school age conceal a knife (pictured) in bark chips in an area of shrubbery before heading Pendle Street East towards the bowling club. The resident did not recognise the young males but did believe they were wearing secondary school uniform of a blazer black trousers and black shoes. Given the time I would imagine that they are village residents and as a parent the thought of a young person being in possession of something like this fills me with dread especially when you consider that 7 out of 10 people who present at A&E with a knife injury have been stabbed with their own knife. If you are a parent of a teen please take a bit of time to have a chat with them about this message and the potential risks of carrying a weapon. If anyone knows who these young people are please let me know as if nothing else they certainly need a safeguarding conversation.
Take care
